{1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 }

Finals week is looming in the horizon, which means for me: ultimate procrastination.  This semesters procrastination comes in the form of obsession with clothes and colors.

I saw a girl with mint jeans on today and almost died of jealousy.  Ok, well I guess I didn't have a near death experience, but I really considered ripping them off of her.  I've been a fan of colored jeans for some time now, but mint... they were beautiful.

I'm definitely planning to add a pop of color to my closet this spring and summer, whether it be in the form of bold and bright colors, or unexpected color duo's.

What colors are you loving this spring?

What about this duo-licious color combination?  I'm typically not a huge fan of pink, but this color combination is so unique and bright.  I'm not sure that I could pull of these outfits, but i'm certainly sure i'd try!  With spring in full swing i've been more and more attracted to bold colors.

In what ways are you changing up your wardrobe?

Clemson's Stadium, #1-- paint run!

This is so awesome I just had to share it.  One of the things that first attracted me to Clemson University (besides the beautiful campus, wonderful people, and great academics) was the in your face "I LOVE MY SCHOOL" spirit.

I love game days because seeing over 80,000 people come together to celebrate a great game and to cheer on one team, is such an awesome experience.  I've always felt that Clemson was superior when it came to crowd noise, and school spirit.  Well, it turns out the Bleacher Report agrees! Check this out:

Power Ranking All 124 College Football Stadiums

Know nationwide as "Death Valley", this venue is the best place in the country to enjoy a college football game. It seats 80,301 and was built in 1942.  The stadium will be filled with orange as the crowed loves to support their Tigers. There are not many fans in the country that are more passionate about their team than this group. When Clemson is playing well and the game is going good, the noise in here is as loud as it gets in college football.

Also, today we ran the Tri-county Young Life paint run, the first 5k as a fundraiser for kids going to camp in our area, ever!  If you're not familiar with Young Life, you should check out their vision and mission, here! Basically, Young Life is made all about and all for the younger generation.  Providing young kids the tools they need to really grow in their faith, meanwhile nurturing this faith and really showing the kids a relationship with Christ.

The Paint run was my first (running only, no obstacles this time) 5k, and it was a blast! I'm becoming so proud of my new love for running, and I'm officially setting my eyes on the next 10k near me!

Mud Run... YOLO

I feel like I should start off by saying, OUCH. The amount of pain that I am in today is pretty amazing.  Yesterday I participated in the Greenville Mud Run with my boyfriend Alex, and our two friends Katie and Nick. It was indeed the dirtiest thing I've ever done, but also the hardest!

I went into this thinking, "how hard can it be?" and it only took one second into the run, where a nice sweet guy in uniform turned into a big, mean, drilling machine that I realized it was going to be pretty darn hard.

Although I can't lift my arms above my head, and I've got burning scrapes across both legs and arms, it really was fun! I expected a run with a few obstacles here and there. Yeah, I couldn't have been more wrong.  There were walls we had to climb over (or in my case, step on my teammates to get over), rope walls to climb over, gigantic tires to flip, mud pits to swim through. It was legit if I do say so myself.  We had soldiers yelling at us at every obstacle, with the exception of a few who I'm assuming felt bad for us and added some kind words of encouragement.

I feel like I could sum it up by saying, if we hadn't had two strong guys on our team we would have been struggling. Although Katie and I held our own for sure!

Greenville Mud Run: before

Greenville Mud Run: after
I'm hoping that the website will be uploading pictures onto their website, soon! And when they do I'll be sure to post them, because I remember a few being snapped that I'm sure will be hilarious.

Also, I'm pretty proud of us, we finished the course in under an hour, and came in 55 out of 310.  That's not so bad, right? I certainly plan on doing it again, except next time i'm training for real!  I encourage you if you like a challenge to give it a shot! You only live once, and yes, that was a YOLO reference.

Running shoes:

I feel like i'm doing this a lot; however being a running newbie i've begun to notice that i'm in desperate need of some advice.  Running shoes:

Running shoes

Any preference? My biggest dilemma i'm having right now is how cute Nikes are.  I've heard that if I want to buy a good pair of running shoes I should go ASICS, but let's be real... there just not as adorable as Nikes. Comfort over beauty? Probably not the best idea in this case.  Anyone have particular luck with an adorable pair of Nikes? Let me know.

As sad as it is I've been wearing down the same running shoes for a while, and it's starting to take a tole on my body.  So I'm having to somewhat trick myself into getting a new pair of shoes.  This sunday... THIS sunday I'll be participating in the Greenville Mud Run (which I mentioned here), so I figure what better way to take those tennis shoes out with a bang while also forcing myself to buy some new shoes.

My next phase of logic is that I would just procrastinate buying new shoes, HA! Tricked myself again, I can't because being the unknowingly genius, genius that I am, I also agreed to do a "Paint run" here in  Clemson to help local high school students in the Tri-County area go to a Young Life camp!  If you live in the Clemson/Anderson area, or anywhere neighboring and want a fun 5k to run, sign up!

On the topic of runs/ athleticism I should also recommend Body Pump.  Body Pump is class I take at fike that starts at 6 in the morning.  Ok, I realize 6 sounds early... and, well it is early. But it's a wonderful start to the day, and they pretty much whip your butt into shape!  Fike is not the only place that offers Body Pump, actually if you look at your local gym/ fitness center, I bet it's offered! Take it!

P.s. Off the topic of working out, and onto books.  Finished 19 minutes, it was awesome! So unexpected... and officially started the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy. Madness, absolute madness! And yet, I can't rip my eyes away from it for longer than an hour at a time.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Apologies first, SORRY! Ok well, It would be an understatement to say that during spring break I neglected my blog.  It wasn't for lack of motivation, but instead an intense effort to stay away from anything school related during the break. I can honestly say I think I opened my laptop once all spring break. I would say I completely avoided using my brain at all over break, but that's not true, I've actually found some time to relax and read, something I haven't done in a while!

I always joke around and say that if there is a band wagon chances are I'm jumping on it.  And my reasoning is this: if a majority of people around me thoroughly enjoy something, chances are that I will too. So I read The Hunger games over break, I haven't read the other two but intend to soon! I've also started a new book, that has been wonderful in aiding me in my procrastinating nature.

I love Jodi Picoult, I blame Valerie Erwin for getting me hooked on her books during our amazing summer trips to Pawley's Island... which, I miss terribly! I plan on doing a post about my beach trip/spring break, but as time passes I feel I might have missed the time that that post would have been relevant.  So, expect a very outdated post soon.  However, a little preview of my next few weeks!

Friday, April 6th I'll be attending the Easter service at NewSpring, go here if you want to see a little preview about what we'll be seeing!

The following Sunday i'll be participating in the Greenville Mud Run, division B. Ahh! I'm so nervous, as well as excited but I feel I may or may not be a little over my head with this one.
Division B – “We Can Move” Division B Teams are in good physical shape and are ready to do their best (mile run time of 7 – 9 minutes).

Guess it's time to whip myself into shape and I have what... two weeks? Not even! Wish me luck! Well, give me some slack these next few weeks as I get back into the Blogging groove, I promise not to abandon my post for that long again any time soon!
